iPod touch iPod touch on USB 1.X does it work?

I heard stories from people that a iPod touch will work with USB 1.X and then some who say no it wont but has anyone successfully got it working and sync and such?

USB 2.0 PCI cards are dirt cheap

iPhone works...

My iPhone works fine on my PismoBook with USB 1.1. Sync takes about 2 hours for 6 GB of data, but the phone charges and everything just as it does on USB 2.0 ports.

Since the iPT and the iPhone are similar in hardware specs, I don't see this being an issue other than performance during large syncs.
