iPod touch Ipod touch only plays one song then stops

I have downloaded and installed latest iTunes and ipod software. I have restored ipod and reset to factory settings. It still plays only one song then stops.

Is it for every song or just one? Are you using a playlist with more than one song? Are you in Album or Artist view and the song is the only one for that Album or Artist?

I click on a song from my playlist, listed by artist name, and a song will play then stop and not continue to the next song. I have "shuffle" highlighted. I have about 16gb of songs in my iTunes library.

You might have "Skip on shuffle" turned on. https://discussions.apple.com/thread/1475745?tstart=0

Try turning off shuffle and see what happens.

did you ever get this figured out? mine does something similar..plays one song, then shuffles past a few like its going to continue playing but stops..shows another song like it is playing but is not
