Has anybody else ever wanted an iPod Touch Plus? Not that there’s any indication Apple would ever make one. But as someone who strongly prefers the SE size for phones, but who wants a bigger secondary handheld device for home use, an iPod Touch Plus would be a Godsend.

I have an iPad mini but it’s too big to be considered a true handheld. I can hold it with one hand but it gets very uncomfortable very quickly, and doesn’t fit in most of my clothes pockets.

I suppose most people use iPod Touch mainly for music so I’m probably a very small minority. Just seeing if there are any others.

^ The thing is that the market is saturated with previous iPhone plus models so there's no reason for Apple to use resources for this. I bought my 6G for music and its superior headphone jack sound quality over that flimsy dongle.

True, but there is a problem with that. I tried using an iPhone 6s plus as my “around the house” device for awhile, and (cost aside) the dealbreaker with that was that it didn’t support a lot of the Continuity functions like call and sms forwarding. That forced me to carry around my SE in addition. And carrying both devices around the house became too much hassle. I ended up just carrying my SE and forgetting about the 6s plus.

It would be great if iPhones supported Continuity in that way, but as it is only iPod Touches and iPads are designed to be secondary devices.

I would for one would like one.

Just curious, do you also prefer small phones? How would you use this device if it existed?

I would use it as my go-to device at home (replacing my SE via Continuity and replacing my iPad mini completely). I’d use it for all communication, quick tasks, and casual consumption (reading, music, and occasional games and short videos)—basically everything at home except longer work/productivity tasks and big screen TV viewing.
Outside of home I don’t do much consumption which is why I prefer just the SE.

I like the SE sized phones. My next favorite would be the iPhone 8 sized phones. I would use my iPod Touch as a dedicated media player. I run a lot so I would use it when I exercise, watch shows at night, use it for music or podcasts at work. Just needs a better battery. That is why I sold my iPod 6.

Waiting in line to pay for the Apple leather case for my Max I spotted 2 tiny devices plugged into their stands. I actually thought they were SE's or some other variant of Apple Phone. It wasn't until I picked 1 up and realised it was an iPod Touch. It was so featherly light that I forgot they still existed and that Apple still sold them.

the market is immersed with past iPhone in addition to models so there's no explanation behind Apple to utilize assets for this. I purchased my 6G for music and its better earphone jack sound quality over that feeble dongle.

Agree with this. Lovin my audiophile grade earphones with the Touch 6G
