To things mainly:
1) If I buy it in America will the warranty be valid in the UK?

2)Does it have a speaker?

Lets hope Apple make enough realizing that everyone who didn't get an iPhone will get a iPod Touch.

1) Yes, Apple's warranties are worldwide.
2) No, unlike the iPhone, there is no built-in speaker.

3) What is the iPhone charger like? Is it portable/small (i'm assuming obviously taht the touch will use a similar/same charger)

4) Is the iPhones wifi connection manager fast/responsive? I wonder if, say, I'm walking down the street I'll be able to QUICKLY check for open wifi connections.

The iPhone's charger is the same USB one you can buy for the iPod. It's very small. It also comes with a USB dock.

The Wi-Fi recognition is instant. If there are available hotspots it will ask you if you want to connect or default to EDGE.

Video Out?

Hi regarding the iPod touch, I am wondering if the headphone port also supports composite or even component video out. I know the 5th generation video iPod supported composite out from the headphone jack, but did they hold that over to the touch? It would make it much more appealing to me if I didn't have to connect it to a dock every time.

Yep, it has video out with composite or the new component cables.
