Just ordered an iPod touch refurb (needed an extra for a family member). And I was surprised to see it shipped from China.

I ordered another one a day before that, and that one shipped from Pennsylvania.

I would think refurbs would be units returned in the states, repaired here, then resold. Anyone know why some might come from China, and others here in the US?

Maybe the one from China is actually a new unit.

That's what I was thinking. Maybe they are just out of refurbs at the moment. And at this point in time, with the new ones on the horizon coming out, they don't mind coughing up a new one. Getting rid of it for $259 is better than it collecting dust after Sept. haha.

We'll see. I'll probably post back once it arrives and let you know.

Well, to follow up, they were both the usual refurbs in the white box that says iPod on it.

Maybe there was is limited stock on 32GB refurbs in the US at the moment. No idea.
