I am trying to restore my ipod touch 1G to a new computer, there isn't much music on there so I don't care if I lose it, and I keep getting error code (1). When I turn the ipod on, it prompts me to connect to iTunes, then when I connect it says it finds an ipod in recovery mode but when I go to restore it, it says there is an unknown error (1). I have searched far and wide and can't seem to find a resolution. It is important to note that it does not say (-1). Also, I am using Windows 8 if that matters. I have tried restarting the ipod, uninstalling/reinstalling iTunes, and deleting and reinstalling the Apple Mobile Device Support, all to no avail. Does anybody have any ideas?

This is from the Apple website:
Check for hardware issues
Try to restore your iOS device two more times while connected with a cable, computer, and network you know are good. Also, confirm your security software and settings are allowing communication between your device and update servers. If you still see the alert when you update or restore, contact Apple support.

Common errors: 1, 10-47, 1002, 1011, 1012, 1014, 1000-1020.

Hopefully that helps!
