Mine still says 13-16

I am still confused though, as to why we are not getting it on the 8th...
Is it true that it is released in stores on the 8th? Because I need it as soon as possible...

If u guys don't mind paying a little more, u should definitely pick it up in store. I just called my Apple store, and they said they will have it next week, just didn't know the exact day.

Me too. I'm looking forward to picking it up in the Apple Store if they have it earlier than the Apple Retail Store pre-order.

I think I can still cancel my order, but why would I have to pay more to buy in store? Also why would Apple make the people who pre order wait longer?

Pay more? Where does that come from? And people who pre-ordered definitely will get it first.

I say pay a little more because of the sales tax.

Well don't I have to pay tax anyway?
That's not what bothers me. What bothers me is that I am going to be receiving my device possibly a week later than people who are getting it in the store, even though I gave apple my money early to pre order it..

Do you think I should cancel the order and then just go into get it when it is released in stores? Or should I wait a a day or two to see if anything changes?
Would I lose money if I canceled my order?

Thanks,
Alex

It is possibly related to production, as more people order and shipments go out to stores etc. Apple may have to push back delivery dates based on the number of units they are able to produce.

why would you preorder when you can just walk in the apple store and get it the first day? (unless theres no apple store in your city?)
preordering usually takes a little longer

Just talked with an Apple employee online who told me that I will be receiving it the day it is released to stores after I told him my order was delivering between the 13th and 16th. Maybe they were SHIPPING one week from the keynote... This is really confusing..

Here is the online chat-

LOL, yeah u do. Sorry I didn't think before I said what I said!!

And to answer ur question, I think u can cancel u order, and they will refund ur money back, but I'm not 100% sure. So just give them a call, and ask them. And if you can cancel ur order, and have a Apple Store close to where u live, u should definitely do that, and just buy it at the Apple store. Today, I called two Apple stores, and they both said they will have it next week, just didn't know the exact date.

Well I live in NY so you never know.... they could sell out

ohh ok yeah i seen them long lines in n.y when the ipads/iphones came out lol
i don't think it should be the same this time though since it's a touch

ipod touchs probably wouldn't sell out at any apple stores, ill be shocked if it does though lol

I spoke to 2 Apple employees last night. One told me I would receive it on the same day that they were released in stores - my delivery estimate says the 13th - 16th??? So why are other people getting theirs on the 10th?

The other guy told me that he had no idea, and that they were shipping next week. So they would arrive sometime after that.

If I lived in Oregon I too would just go to the local Apple Store but here in NJ there is a 7% sales tax so I ordered my 64GB Touch from MacMall for $383.99 with 2.5% ebates cash back and free shipping.

Yeah. Having no sales tax is great. They keep pushing it but os orgonains don't want it as it will be like what happended in calfornia.

Strangly I find the local mac store to have more knowlagable sales reps and friendlier service then the actual "apple store"
