I've been using an iPt since the first gen. Currently I have a 3gen. I've also followed this forum for a number of years. This "season" has been full of speculation, assumptions and rumors. Hence the name: "MacRUMORS".

Apple never promised any kind of upgrade. That was all rumor and speculation. If anyone is disappointed it is merely because hopes were placed in rumor and speculation. I've a 3rd gen Touch and I have to admit I was caught up in the speculation. However, I am not blaming Apple for the lack of a device that only exists in my creative and group speculative imagination.

Might not like what you're saying, but you are correct. But we do base our rumours on past releases, So you have to understand why we are kinda upset with the new iPod Touch.

It's the feeling of product abandonment that bothers me. Not personally, but as a buyer of iPod touches i always like to see the product evolve.

Apple used to be genuinely excited about their iPod events. Last years was very big, tons of redesign and innovation. And Steve Jobs was psyched to deliver the details at the keynote.

This year it was a sidenote tacked in the middle of the iPhone event. No technical hardware changes to any iPod.

I also realize now, that the days of devices that only play music, or primarily play music, are nearing the end. Smartphones become more and more common, and they do it all. So I hold nothing against Apple for their decision. It's business. And it makes sense.
