iPod touch ipod touch stuck in recovery loop. always goes back to connect to itunes screen

title says it all, when i try to do the thing where you hold the power+home, then let go of power, my pc detects my ipod, but when i try to restore it just goes back to connect to ituens and then my pc doesnt detect it again.
would the thing to do be to download 4.3.5, and then do shift+restore to 4.3.5?
ipod touch 4g restored from 4.3.3->recovery loop

Download RecBoot, plug in your iPod, and use RecBoot to exit recovery mode. Then restore.

Or you could try a DFU restore.
