Ok , My Laptop crash ( its not a mac, I know )and could not recover , I had to reformat and reinstall and of course lost a few things. I went to apple and reinstalled iTunes and when I hook up my IPOd touch it says ( The Ipod, Mikes IPod is synced with another Itunes library ( which its not becasue I had to reformat the HD ). Ipod can be synced with only one Itunes library at a time. What would you like to do? ) then below that it says ,( Erase and sync, replace the contents of this iTines libaray. Transfer Purchases copies iTunes store purchases this computer is authorized to play from this ipod to this iTunes libaray.

So does this mean if I sync , will it erase all the music I have on my Ipod touch now? Or will it take the music I have on it and put it on iTunes and then put it back onto my Ipod.

Thanks!

Can you try and make it clearer as to what the options are? Maybe take a screenshot of the dialog box that appears and then share that here?

If you have everything you had in your iTunes library before you had to restore then it won't matter if you "erase and sync" with the supposed *new* library, because everything will still be copied to the iPod. But, if your music/videos/photos etc are now ONLY on your iPod, use a program to copy the files from your iPod back on to your laptop. (I will not provide a link seeing as I do not know about the legality of these programs)

Hope this helps.

iTunes will not take any music off of your iPod and put them on your computer unless they were purchased from the iTunes Store (thats what the last option is).

However, a simple Google search will help you find many apps for both PC and Mac that will transfer music from your iPod back into iTunes.
