iPod touch Ipod Touch Syncing

Hey all,

Can you sync an Ipod Touch 5g wirelessly to iCloud or Itunes without being connected to the same wifi network?

I can't seem to figure this out, maybe it's not possible? It's either wifi connected to the internet or a cable most likely?
