when I restored, my default clock region and weather region was that of my city.. that didn't happen in the previous updates. The default clock was always Cuppertino.. Anyone else noticed this??

or is this set automatically by syncing my ipod?? I don't get it.. With restore it should have deleted all previous configurations..

Big thumbs up on podcast download AND streaming :)

Not so hot - did the Maps application get updated at all on the ipod Touch? I am not seeing public transit / walking directions either...

Edit: yup, as others have noted in the main page thread, the Maps app on the touch didn't get updated at all. Poo.

Quick question for OTA podcast downloading. I have my itunes set to only keep and sync the last 5 episodes for all of my podcasts. If I update one of them over the air will it automatically delete the oldest one?

Does the new walking/transit directions work on the ipod touch? I can't figure out how to access it.

Nevermind, I realized they screwed over the ipod touch users. Already sent in my feedback, this is just silly.

I think video podcast streaming is going to be nice, but it seems that some of the files won't stream -- I get a format not supported error. Not quite sure why some videos work and some don't.

Anybody had podcasts downloaded automatically? I'm wondering if it's just a manual feature or if will auto download podcasts when you go to your podcast in the music player or something.

My wife has a 2nd generation touch. She tells me that when she attempts to update the firmware, it tries to charge her $9.95. It should be free. I'm looking for insights. Is this how it begins for everyone?

(I have an iPhone, so this isn't ever an issue for me - so far.)

No charge for me, 1st generation iPod touch

That's weird.
Are you sure it's a 2G?

I agree, it is weird. And yes I'm sure it's 2G. I bought it for her myself right after they came out.

Edit: I had her restart her computer, and the firmware then updated without trying to charge her. Not sure what that's all about, but all is fine now.

i just realized (i'm updating now) that while the ipod is updating to 2.2, you get a progress bar now instead of the normal loading circle thing that you got with older versions.

A tried installing it, but instead I had the joyful experience of restoring my iPod touch, just got done writing the back-up back onto it (what does that even do?), and now I'm waiting for all of my apps, music, podcasts, movies, and photos to re-sync. Joyous times!

Oh well, at least I'll be able to update my podcasts on the go. :)
