I am very much in doubt what to get. I need a new device for spotify music, my mp3s for incar audio, and would love to put some apps on it for biking and running (so gps is a plus). I would love the ipod touch but the lack of a gps sensor is a big disappointment. And to be honest, I can get a pretty high end android phone for the same money. Any other things to consider? My 2g ipod is near dead :)

If you prefer Android and it does everything you need, get the Android phone.

I have an ipod touch 5th generation and the Samsung galaxy note. I don't rate the phone as a music player. It's ok but doesn't compare to an ipod. It is expensive but it's worth imo. It's a good combo (android phone + ipod touch. Wifi based locations works pretty well on the touch. I find it to be just as accurate as my galaxy note with gps sensor.

I think it would be kinda clunky to bring two devices with him if he goes for running or cycling.. if the Android phone does everything you need then go for it, the iPod is more of a media player.

I have both an iPod Touch 5g and the new Samsung Galaxy S4 phone. I use both every day and love both devices. Obviously, my 5g is my music device solely, however, I do load a few choice albums on my S4. If I am forced to use only one, I still have stuff to listen to.

The iPod touch is far thinner and lighter than any android phone, I sometimes can't even feel that it's in my pocket. So that's a plus for running and biking.

I must disagree with the op stating that price of ipod touch is same as hi-end android.

Galaxy series doubled the price of the 5th touch. So if you plan to get hi-end android then please make it worth. Dont get the touch. Although, i never really feel that any android phone worth the same price as Iphone because the lack of app stability and personal info security.

I've got the 5th Gen. Touch and the Xperia Z phone.

The phone doesn't get used for music at all.
