Ipod Touch

My buddy has an ipod touch 1st gen and he jus gave it to me for no reason just cause i wanted it and jus to have it for music. I was wondering is their anyway to jailbreak an ipod touch? I do not know what version its on yet but he said he has not updated his itouch in a very long time. With that being said, can you still jailbreak it?
