Hello
I have a nice 80G model of the iPod Video 5.5 (late 2006) which suffers from a bad HDD and scratched face and rear plates and almost dead battery. am planning for a complete restoration for the device. Since I really miss using it and listening to that glorious Wolfson DAC. its impossible for me to through it away and buy another one because I owned it for almost 9 years now and there is tons of memories with it.
iPod status:
HDD: Broken
Screen: Good
Audio jacks and ribbons: Good
F/R plates: Scratches (Heavy)
30 pin connector: medium but works
Logic board: works
........
Any suggestions guys? and how much this will cost me.
Appreciate your replies.

You can buy a CF card adapter and scrap the HDD (and replace the battery while you're at it) on ebay and refurb it yourself. If I can find a link to the ones I bought I'll post a link. Updated two old iPods and they work great.

The nice thing about these iPods Video and Classic is that Chinese sellers on eBay have plenty of new parts.
