I recently went on a trip to Mexico and on the flight there my ipod classic quit on me. I went to reboot it but now it will only bring up the apple emblem for a few seconds and make a clicking sound. Then the screen goes blank and it starts the process all over again until the battery is dead. Does anyone know what is going on with this.
Guess I should tell you that this is the second time this has happened. First with my 30G video and now with my 80G classic (that I just happened to get to replace the 30 after a previous trip to Mexico). Guess I should stop going to Mexico.

Connect it to the computer you use to transfer music to it and see what happens. IMO sounds like the iPod software got corrupted somehow. Last resort would be to restore the device to factory settings but that'll clear off whatever music is already on it.

    thanks for the idea.

    Thanks for the idea.
It only gives it enough power to keep going through the same cycle over and over.
I am starting to think it may be the hard drive because of the sound that it is making. Still keeping my fingers crossed that it isn't though.
