How about the ipod recognizes when it's upside down(like camcorder lcds) and inverts the screen...just thought itd be cool

That would be cool.

I don't know if these things are possible, but they are things I think would be great.

Entirely waterproof iPod that didn't require a special case. So always waterproof.

Back up flash memory for situations like jogging or sports. Say a half hour or hour capacity. So when you were doing an activity, after a half hour or hour, you could quickly swap out the playlist in the flash memory with a new playlist.

The question I have is... would significant shaking still be harmful to the harddrive even when not 'running' or spinning?

I just want something/anything to come out soon so I can buy it. I'm to afraid to buy right now because *something* has got to be coming soon! :)

Here's what I'd love to see the most (in order):

1) recording capability. (This is the biggie! I'd use it for voice notes, as well as for recording lectures for review.)

2) Larger drive. (Insurance for the future.)

3) AM/FM receiver. (Why not?)

4) PDA/Phone capabilities. (Sure, this is a long shot, but if it could be done without changing the form factor *too* much, I think it would be great. Enlarge the screen a bit and add a pen for the PDA. The phone could work with the headphones. It's not gonna happen, but it's fun to dream...)

My Wish List:

>> LONG battery life
>> brushed aluminum back
>> color backlights (just for the cool factor) or mebe even the tricolor LEDs used in the Photon Rav'n Light
>> Wi-Fi connectivity (Bluetooth's bandwidth is way too low)
>> FM receiver (since everyone else wants it)
>> SPOT receiver (?)
>> better headphones (bundle some Koss or Sony earbuds)
>> UI font selection
>> wired remote control with screen (like the stick remotes used on Sony MD's, except more angular and more Apple)
>> full-back design engraving (like what Falcon Northwest is doing with its Exotix cases, without the paint)

>> optional docking cradle resembling the wash-n-charge cradle for that shaver. with only the screen sticking exposed and the FireWire plug on a little arm that clicks down
>> I wouldn't buy one personally, but I think there's a definite market for one: a MiniPod, 2.5 GB of solid-state memory. Long battery life, enough memory for the casual music listener, half-size form factor, perfectly skip-free.

On a totally unrelated note, for the purported Apple tablet, I propose a name which I think is more "Think different" than just iTablet. How about ...

iLeaf?
