iPod Ipod won't start - black screen - HELP!

Hi everyone, I was using my ipod video today and put it down, on pause. About 20 minutes later, I picked it up and it was off. I can't turn it back on! The battery was far from dead, still green. I don't know what to do! Please offer any suggestions or comments you have. THANK YOU😱

Thank goodness for the restart function. I tried the wrong combo to restart and that obviously didn't work.
The correct restart worked, and didn't damage any of my files.
Thanks webmasters for including the wikipedia link on the forum page
