iPods don't register on computer. :(

    Apparently, my iPod shuffle and iPod Video (5th gen) no longer sync or mount on my computer. Not sure when this happened, exactly, but I'm guessing some recent updates (10.4.11, QT 7.4, and iTunes 7.6) had something to do with it.

    Is anybody else having this issue? Any suggestions? I really have no desire to restore and lose everything again. :/

    Well, I did some more troubleshooting and figured out the problem. Apparently, the USB port was the issue, for whatever reason. It seemed like it was sending some power out, but that was it. This was verified by testing the other USB ports and also plugging my mouse into the trouble USB port.

    Techtool Deluxe found no issues, so I reset my PRAM and crossed my fingers.

    The offending USB port is now working again. :)
    Hopefully it was a fluke and not a sign of things to come.
