I saw one other review in the forums for this case but thought I'd give you all my opinion on the case.
This case (which also comes in black) is a well made and pretty damn good looking leather case. I was actually impressed and even a little surprised....I didn't expect it to be as good looking and have such a premium feel. It was packaged Well in a little black bag. The stitching is well done and looks like it will hold up. I love this color leather.... it reminds me a little of the apple leather case that I have.
I am typically not a wallet case fan. Something about holding my phone like a book seems weird and awkward to me. BUT I thought it would be nice to have and use when I go out to dinner or maybe shopping where It would be nice not to have to carry both my wallet and my phone. Despite this case being a real nice case I don't know if it is for me bc I can't get used to the awkwardness of holding it while using the phone. If anyone is used to this sort of case or needs this type of case I don't think you'd be disappointed. Again....it looks really cool and feels nice. The phone is sturdy and well secured in the TPUish case portion. Even seems as tho it would offer good drop protection by the phone being complete enveloped. I may TRY it again but I will probably give this one to the gf for her new JB 7+ she just ordered. She couldn't keep her hands off of it and really likes it. Here are a few pics sorry for the quality. Let me know if you have more questions. I will also update if my opinion changes with more use.

I agree with your overall impression about these types of cases. They're just too clumsy and clunky for every day use but I guess somebody who uses their phone differently such as a woman keeping all their credit cards and other stuff in it could probably like this case. It's not really for somebody who uses the phone too much I don't think. Plus if you're going to go this route there's actually a lot nicer leather cases.

...you see, this type of case is perfect if you have an Apple Watch as well. You can leave the phone inside the wallet, where it is protected, and use your watch to deal with all the notifications as and when they come in.

I'm currently waiting for this one to arrive (any day now), from Nomad (which is one of the best I have seen):
