i got 130 but i dont think the test is accurate, the scores should probably be lower.
but as im english (from england) i thought the test was biased towards the US because there were a few questions using dollars, 'blocks', and pounds etc, some of the wording/sentence structure is american too.

In case anyone is wondering, here are the subtests composing the second most commonly administered IQ test in the world, the Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale, or "WAIS" for short. (The most commonly administered test is the children's edition, the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children.)

From Wikipedia:

Verbal subtests

Information - Degree of general information acquired from culture (e.g. Who is the president of Russia?)
Comprehension - Ability to deal with abstract social conventions, rules and expressions (e.g. What does "Kill 2 birds with 1 stone" metaphorically mean?)
Arithmetic - Concentration while manipulating mental mathematical problems (e.g. How many 45c. stamps can you buy for a dollar?)
Similarities - Abstract verbal reasoning (e.g. In what way are an apple and a pear alike?)
Vocabulary - The degree to which one has learned, been able to comprehend and verbally express vocabulary (e.g. What is a guitar?)
Digit span - attention/concentration (e.g. given the sequence of digits '123', reverse the sequence.)
Letter-Number Sequencing - attention and working memory (e.g. Given Q1B3J2, place the numbers in numerical order and then the letters in alphabetical order)

Performance subtests

Picture Completion - Ability to quickly perceive visual details
Digit Symbol/Coding - Visual-motor coordination, motor and mental speed
Block Design - Spatial perception, visual abstract processing & problem solving
Matrix Reasoning - Nonverbal abstract problem solving, inductive reasoning, spatial reasoning
Picture Arrangement - Logical/sequential reasoning, social insight
Symbol Search - Visual perception, speed
Object Assembly - Visual analysis, synthesis, and construction

Optional post-tests include Digit Symbol - Incidental Learning and Digit Symbol - Free Recall.

Addtionally, each subtest has equal weight on the overall score.

I'm embarrassed to say my score, but this is not a very advanced or scientific test. I've taken others over the years that are more "official", including the ones recognized by Mensa International.

"Those" aren't always official either, are they? If a psychologist didn't run through the test with you, it's fake.

Only a small percent of the population (around 5%) score over 120, while less than 1% score over 130. Too many people here are scoring 120, 130, or even 140, unless the "average" score was redefined as 125 rather than 100.

Besides, this is insulting to the super-duper genii such as myself.

Yes, exactly! Unless the test is administered, Mensa doesn't recognize it. Self-tests don't count.

134. I was also on the phone for five minutes, which apparently brought it down.

120.

I'll accept that, given I had a 117, about 50 years ago. :p

See? You just proved that this test is flawed.

Double digit, then, huh? :D

No way! My MacBook's fans starting spinning at full blast when I started smokin' those questions.

The most unfortunate thing about this is when MENSA lost my phone number. I should give them a friendly, casual call and say "whazzup".

You can't trust that, because you have a bug on your system. I can see it crawling around under your name! :D

Damn that thing! It's been there for AGES! And only when I browse MacRumors. I hate that little bastard.

In reality I got 141. I did it extremely quickly though, within about 7 minutes or so. But still, it's an extremely inaccurate test. I have no idea what my true general IQ is.

114... but admittedly, I'm 15 and it's 3am... And I'm not that good arithmetically... (but adequate)

I just don't think doing silly sums under time constraints is really a good way to determine someone's IQ.

I took the Tickle one a year or so ago and got 126.

Bah. I'll try it again tomorrow when I'm "awake".

edit:

I think anyone who smacked their screen trying to kill that bug should get 30 points deducted off their IQ score.

D:

I did once a while ago because iMacs are prone to collecting dust and dirt on the screen... I thought it was just a typical fleck of umm... moving dirt... *sigh*

To be fair, I wasn't really paying much attention as I was multi-tasking...

Dammit I'm such a failure...

I took an official IQ test in Senior Psych class in high school. I scored a 122.

If you were to ask my family, I'm a dumb smart person.

As someone who's actually had a *real* intelligence test properly administered by a professional (WISC-III FWIW) I'm going to wholeheartedly echo Abstract's sentiment.

I scored 169 on the last online "IQ test" I took; but knowing me as I do, I probably cheated.
