well, the G-class is a MUCH more capable vehicle for off roading. Its got some crazy technology for that stuff. Its very much a niche product, hence its high price. Its somewhat akin to the Hummer H1. Both are military vehicles recently made available for consumers, and carry hefty price tags because people will pay to be able to talk about how capable the vehicle is, even if they just drive it to work.

exactly...with the difference that the G is available since the early 80ties in the same shape.... actually the cheapest G270 is availble for 45k (without VAT) here and there are alot of used ones on the market..not only mercedes Gs but the older puch Gs as well the G was a design cooperation between both companies... the stripped down army version has a lousy 88 HP diesel engine

actually it's even used by the us marines

I guess they couldn't spell 'humility" never mind show it.
In Maryland at least, you can only put seven characters on a vanity tag. Sometimes the space is so limited, and the resulting abbreviations so severe, it's hard to figure out what a tag's supposed to say.

damn straight, i saw that on the a jeep forum i browse. damn i love my jeep :). I like SUV's, but I think the H2's are worthless, unless you have enough money to put tv's and 24" spinners on it, then I like it.

Jeeps rule; they're small, light, fun to drive (and I've driven all of them including the H2 AKA the Tahoe-so-ugly-even-its-mother-couldn't-love-it).
The G-wagon is actually decent, and the original Hummvee is very cool to rock-crawl with. But, I love my CJ-7, she's gotten me out of scrapes, washes, bad weather, and even though she's been broken, swamped, scratched and even crashed, she still takes care of me.
