It all depends on your usage. If you have lots of media, take a ton of pictures, download 100s of apps, etc. then 16GB might not be enough. For me 16 is enough. I have about 3-4GB left. I have a few videos, less than 100 apps, and only about 500 songs.

I currently have 16 gb it is enough for now but not much longer..I am going to take advantage of the 32 gb iPhone 5S on launch day

I have iPhone 4 8GB and I have used only 25% at most throughout 3 years, so if you are like me, not keeping junk on phone, you'll be fine with 16GB.

I do not know why people need 128GB or 64GB, that's an insane amount of memory. Pictures take like 1.5-3MB, just how many pictures does one need.

yeah, some people.

Apps (GarageBand alone is 600MB or something and some games are a Gig, easy)
Podcasts and Music
Video recorded on the phone
Movies

I get by with 16 on my 4S if I religiously delete stuff (and I use iTunes Match)... I'll be going with at least 32GB if/when I get the 5S.

I could probably manage 16GB but it would be really close and I wouldn't want to deal with taking stuff off and on. It's comforting not having it worry about space. With 32GB I don't have to worry about space at all, really.

Being on a 16GB for all these years has forced me to use things like Spotify and Dropbox. However, with the way these cameras are going, I have to keep offloading my pictures every few months, and that is becoming a pain. I think I might jump to 32GB. I also wonder about the 64-Bit stuff. When OS X went 64-Bit a lot of the applications were much bigger because they contained both sets of bits.
