Just bought the 4 yesterday with 32GB. Is that allot? The ATV 3 had no storage space. I DO NOT have allot of apps, and DO NOT play games so will this help?

Not a problem. Unless you plan on having a lot of games more storage is unnecessary. Video is streaming only, so storage space really doesn't matter.

I don't play games on my ATV so 32GB should be fine. Streaming is much faster with the 4 as it was on the 3.

Should be fine ALTHOUGH the ATV 4 like the 3 does cache the entire film temporarily. Any reason why you did not go for the 4K model with its A10X chip?

Don't forget that the amazing screensaver are around 500MB each but the ATV will temporarily delete these if it needs the space :)

The the tvOS, 20 apps, film cache and screensavers, the chances are that you'll never been using more than 20GB in total. The only reason that I bought the 64GB ATV4K is because of the tiny £20 price difference and i've learnt the very hard lesson from Apple that you can never have too much storage but after 16GB iPhones, you certainly can have too little :) :) :)

I bought the 4 because of price and because I do not have a 4K TV. I don't foresee me getting a 4K TV in the near future so I did not see a reason to spend the extra money on the 4K ATV.

You will be fine with 32GB. I have ran out of space on the 32GB ATV4k, but that was with hundred of apps, most were games. If you do not play games, I would bet that you will never ever run out of space on the 32GB ATV4.

Unless you got a really good deal for the ATV4, I would get the ATV4k instead. You do not need a 4K TV to benefit from the ATV4K hardware.

My 32GB ATV4K runs circles around my 64GB ATV4. My ATV3 runs smoother and faster than my ATV4.

So, if you paid full retail for the ATV4, the ATV4K is not much more money, I would go for the better hardware.

I paid $134 for the ATV4. It’s actually quite faster than the ATV3.

The ATV 3 had no storage space.
Kind of, it wasn't user accessible storage.

The ATV3 has 8GBs of internal storage (I think there were some with 16GB), which IIRC, was only used for buffering video.

I'm not surprised, it seems like there is a very wide range in ppl's ATV4 experience since its launch.

My ATV3s probably have the same responsiveness as my ATV4K, and maybe load the apps slightly slower, depending on the app. But, I have heard others say that their ATV3s are sluggish.

Another thought, the more apps I added to my ATV4, the slower it got. This is especially true if I use multiple apps in a relatively short period of time.

The ATV4k did the same thing when the storage was completely full, but it did not slow it down nearly as much as the ATV4. The ATV4 also crashes a lot more often than my ATV4k or ATV3.

I paid $134 for the ATV4.
If you are happy with the price, then the ATV4 would probably be a good choice.

with 32GB. Is that allot
To answer your original question, if you plan on doing similar stuff on your ATV4 that you were doing with your ATV3, then you will be fine, and I doubt you will ever get close to running out of space.

I have an Apple TV 4 and a 4K, both 32 GB. If all you are doing is streaming, that should be more than enough. That is all I do with mine, they work perfectly, even my older Apple TV's still work good.

I picked up an Apple TV 4 early this year at a local retailer, it was a very good price (too good to pass up) and I knew it was going to a TV that will never be 4K (my bedroom).

Received an Apple TV 4K for free with DirecTV Now and it is hooked up to a 4K TV (family room).

Ditched Satellite TV and went streaming only, and the Apple TV 4 and 4K (both 32 GB) work just fine (iTunes, DirecTV Now, Netflix & Amazon).

Moved my Apple TV 3 to my man cave and it is hooked up to a Roku TV, and its still a suitable device, I use it for iTunes, Netflix and Amazon Prime (prefer the Apple TV interface more than the Roku interface when it comes to Netflix & Amazon). And I just use the DirecTV Now app in the Roku TV if I want to watch live TV.

And actually I still have an Apple TV 2, and I moved that to the guest bedroom TV along with a Roku, the Apple TV 2 is still good for watching Netflix and iTunes and the Roku is fine for DirecTV Now.

Are you referring to the ATV3 UI for Netflix and Amazon?

If so I agree. I really hate using the Netflix app that you find on newer devices. While it might be aesthetically pleasing, the endless swiping when navigating gets old. Plus, the ATV3 version has a lot more information about the actors, producers, and directors of the content than the newer Netflix apps. It has better sub-genres for content too.

I would love it so if Netflix would adopt UI of the ATV3's version of Netflix and made a tvOS and Roku app like that.

Yes. Not really a fan of the Netflix UI on the Apple TV 4, but I like it better than Roku.

Yeah I noticed that yesterday after I upgraded. The interface is not as nice nor as easy to find my favorite list.

Believe it or not, the Netflix app was much worse at the launch of the ATV4.

It was a huge adjustment from the ATV3.

Is it if you don't fill it up ..like me

I never installed many apps, only ABC, IView, and SBS on demand.... Games would biggest, levels etc.... and how many games you have installed. but if its just for basic use, even 16Gig would be enough If Apple had offered it.
