Kind of experiencing a summable difference between my former iPhone 11 compared to the pro max.. reasons been my 11 was repaired and lost water proof and secondly my 11 was just a 64gb about to reach its limit but the pro max is 512 but on a 82 health, really wished I stuck with my 11 than trading it in, how bad or good is my decision pls tell me

How do you use your iPhone?

I got an 11 PM in February 2021. It was made some time in 2019 and by the time I dropped it and smashed it three weeks (or so) ago the battery was at 99%. My replacement was made in May 2022 and of course, 100% battery.

I don't use my phone as a media device except when out, or a computer so depending on what you do with yours that is probably the difference.

Compared to my 11 pro max my first 11 wason 100% health so I usually go to work WhatsApp YouTube videos a some social sites but I still have about 40 -50 percent while at home around let’s say 7pm but now my pro max is barely a month I got it used on that battery health I recently updated to 15.5 I leave home on full charge I still try my normal routine only for me to peel on my battery Every 5mins i notice 1% drops at exactly 1:35pm now am having 69% left when I left home with 92% I really feel there is a higher set back and 11 reckons on this category,… below is my battery/ screen time

Look at it another way.
An iPhone battery that’s at 70% health is pretty much unusable- so 70% is essentially 10%.
When the battery health says 80%, it’s really more like 45-50% and you can feel it.
So the takeaway is - the iOS battery health number is a lie. 80% battery health ain’t 20% less powerful than a new battery.

Also the battery health number is gamed. You’ll notice that it’ll stay just above 80% for seemingly forever (even though degradation is fairly linear) because 80% is the magic number Apple uses as criteria for a replacement.
It’s rare to see the number drop in the 70s, but there’s millions of iPhones out there with an 80-82% battery health. Funny how that is.

Ok but how about my screen time / battery use is it on a fair page

Once you hit 79%-82% you’ll begin to see problems with your battery such as uneven drain. You may have 30% battery but after a 10 minute video, the phone could drop to 15% and then randomly shut off. I have had all my phone batteries replaced when they drop below 82%.

It's approaching the service recommendation.

How? I tried at 81% and they point blank refused and wouldn't budge!
My batteries were changed after 2 years of use and I have never had a battery changed by Apple. I used a trusted phone repair shop with some of the best reviews in my country and they’ve never botched a job. I have had 5 battery replacements carried out on me and my families phones.

My 12 Mini will probably be changed by Apple because I will use it for longer than 2 years. I will just drop it to 79% prior to the replacement.

Ok it’s not late though but at the time I had few on me (tight budget)and fell for the pro max deal the major thing I wanted was the 512gb storage

You got a great device but yeah battery health deteriorated severely, have you tried going to get the battery replaced? An 11 Pro Max on full capacity can easily rival the 13 Pro Max in battery life, the battery life on this thing is phenomenal, mine is on 87% and I’m still getting over 9hours SOT.

Apple, those SOBs. Coconut battery perhaps or is this cooked into the firmware?
