is $90/month ATT iphone bill too much?

Hi,

My 2-year contract with ATT for iphone 6s+ is ending. I only stayed with ATT because of the unlimited plan I've had since 2009 or so. is $90/month with discount a decent plan, and if not what are comparable rates? it was worth it to me as i was using 20-30gb a month.

Now that most carriers are offering "unlimited" I am thinking of upgrading to Iphone X, i would like to consider the options and swap carrier with same #. I am in the NYC area and have a verizon iphone 6 work phone.

iirc i paid several hundred $$$ for iphone 6s+ and the fees i paid over te 2 year contract paid off the rest.

now that phone is paid off, what is the best option to proceed if i pay outright for iphone x? does the rate i paid go down if i buy the phone outright?

I checked but don't see what you mean by the walmart plans. how are walmart plans better?
 
Look at prepaid plans from big 3 carriers. They all have unlimited after 6 or 10 gigs, but at 2g-3g speeds; 150kbps.

the only reason i kept it before everyone offered unlimited was because i regularly use 20-25 gb a month. i still do. FOR those who have ATT unlimited what are you paying for one line?

Can I lower my att bill after contract ends if I keep my 6s+ and dont upgrade?

Not really. See KGB7 and HAL9000's posts.

If I'm remembering correctly, ATT has Choice and Plus unlimited. Choice gives you "unlimited" 3G/2G speeds up to 20GB (22?) and then throttles speeds even more. Video is 480p. Plus, LTE speeds, HD video, up to same GB numbers. Choice is $60, Plus is $95. And I believe that price is with the $5 discount for ebills and autopay via bank draws.

And the prepay unlimited plan is similar to Choice re speeds, video.

If want top speeds, keep the grandfathered unlimited until ATT decides to raise prices once or twice more down the road.

No line fee or anything else. It's simply $40/mo for unlimited talk & text + 6gb of high speed data (with unlimited 128 kbps speeds afterwards).
 
Yes for 1 line $90 a month is up there.
You can do a lot better.
If you transfer your line to a family plan with other lines you could be paying less than half of what you're paying now.

I wish my AT&T bill was only 90$ a month! I must be doing something really wrong here haha.

Hey buddy its too much, now almost all carriers have new planes. I have switched from $90 monthly plan to $55 att prepaid with 8GB of data and unlimited talk, text. But then AW3 came out which requires post paid account then found good price on Verizon plan, now have unlimited everything plus AW3 $10 data plan included for approx $72. When you call att tell them verizon is giving you better plan and then just watch how good offers they will give you. BTW my phone is paid off. No contract either with Verizon.
