do you rly want to know?
Perhaps some people want something better than your average T.V. I suppose spending a great amount of money isn't logical for the average person but want is different than need. it may not make sense to spend 200k on a lamborghini car but people do it regardless.

Why anyone would pay more then $300 for a T.V is beyond me. But whatever floats your boat, I guess.

Personally I can't tell the difference between 780 and 1080p, so I wouldn't bother springing for the 1080. If this isn't the case for the OP, go with the 1080 if you feel comfortable spending the extra money for it.

How is that beyond you?

Well she is 16 and mostlikely, 300 is a large sum relative to her I am guessing

Regardless, my thoughts are if you are going to lay down a few hundred for a piece of electronics for multiple years, get what you want

I dont know about you, but I replace tv's on a far less frequency than say computers so I try and get what I ant the first go around
