Seriously though, that's a pretty good deal. They go for ~$1300 new from Apple with those options since its the middle model.
For that money you could probably get close to all of it back when you sell it.

In itself, it sounds like an excellent deal. Buy it now if you need it, wait for the updates, if you don't. What I fail to understand is why you would consider buying it now, only to sell it after updates are issued when the price is certain to drop; why put yourself through such stress unless you like the adrenalin high of trading? If you want a very good computer at what seems to be a very good price, go for it. If you want to play poker with prices, I can't advise you on outcomes.
