I handle some PDF files daily....I guess the answer I'm looking for is I notice it says in app access? Does that mean when I sending resumes out I can attach the resume to the email from the mail app? Am I correct?

Huh? Your thread title talks about air sharing but your post talks about Mail. What exactly are you asking here?

BTW, I should mention I own both air sharing hd and goodreader. If all you need to deal with are pdf's then goodreader is probably all you need.

I don't understand your question about attaching resumes to email or how it might possibly relate to airsharing. Please clarify.

Is AirSharing HD pretty good for non-PDF stuff? I'm also looking for something that will open and display Powerpoints, primarily.

    Thanks.

Sorry, going off 3 hours of sleep.....

I usually use craigslist sometimes to send out my resume. My question is can i attach my resume to the email when I send it out? Or do i have to copy and paste?

Your questions make it sound like your iPad might be your only computer. For something like sending out resumes, I would NOT use my iPad. There are too many quirky limitations, like the inability to properly handle attachments. But I do think both Air sharing and goodreader would allow you to email your resume right from the app. You just couldn't start out in the Mail app and decide to attach your resume to an email already in progress. You couldn't browse to craigslist in safari and decide to upload your resume from the browser.

I disagree with the above, though agree it shouldn't be your only computer.

You can email things through Air Sharing and add a message as well, so definitely.

Plus, if you're emailed an attachment and have an app that can open it, it will open in that app. Attachment support is pretty much fine.

This evening I needed to take 5 PDF files with me to a meeting. I fired up goodreader and tried to get them from our fileserver by AFP, no. Then I tried smb, no. Then FTP. It seemed to work but then asked me for a second userid and password even though I had already logged in. I tried again and again. No can do. So I fired up airsharing HD. I couldn't figure out how to get the files. Finally I stumbled upon the method to select copy and paste the files. I lost a half hour dealing with this crap. I would have been better off with a windows netbook. I guess this adds support to the cause of air sharing HD but we shouldn't need no stinkin' third party apps for simple tasks like moving files from one apple device to another apple device. And don't brow beat me about that USB cable. I'm using it for a cat leash. ;)

Are files in airsharing interchangeable with apple apps like pages, keynote and numbers?

You can open the files in the iWork apps but have to email them back to yourself to get them back to Air Sharing (or good reader) after editing them. Apple needs a solution for this.

Note: Air Share doesn't print from Windows (I know...) or a wifi-connected printer. I should have read the fine print.

even if the ipad doesn't have a general file system, and each app has its own little space, there is no reason there couldn't be a general file browser for remotely finding files from other computers that do.

eg on my MBP I open up finder, click on my mac mini and the drives attached all show up. Why can't I have that when I use pages and want to open a document? having to open itunes, connect your ipad, select apps, scroll down, add a file is the most insane thing ever and almost makes iworks pointless.

why do apple even have mobileme, idisk and iwork.com if none of them are supported?

Yes, you could make one single app your file browser, but no single app is perfect enough to do this. There is always some sort of limitation of an app (can't email, can't run in background, can edit docs, doesn't open up every single file type) that prevents this. And if a perfect app exists, it should have been incorporated into the native OS long ago. People should take this up with Apple:
