Is an iSkin Keyboard Protector recommended ?

Macbook Pro keyboard seems to have room around the keys to allow dirt, dust, exc. to get under the keyboard.

Is this the case ?

Is an iSkin type keyboard protector recommended ? or is it not necessary ?

Does the iSink block any heat from venting?
