Yup, I want to see if they do a 14" as well. I'd like to see a 14" and 16" side by side to decide which one I get. I'm really hoping we get some news about these at WWDC.

I don't care what M# it is, but I really hope they release a more bare-bones large Macbook Pro like they used to (like the iGPU models they had up to 2015). I don't need super high end graphics processing, terabytes of storage, and other fancy features. I just want a basic Macbook with a large screen for MS Office and web browsing.

I think the 16” and 14” are going to be the clear line in the sand between the consumer models (air, iMac, 13” pro) and the higher powered devices. Therefore I don’t think there will be an M1 version.

I have a client who has been waiting patiently to retire his 2012 15” Retina MBP, so I’m hoping an announcement is made at WWDC even if the rumors today indicate they might not see release until July.

I’m not. I don’t believe there will ever be a 16” M1 variant 😜

I am however waiting for the 16” with a prosumer Apple Silicon chip.

I’m not waiting for the M1 16”, but for the M2X version.

If there will be a M1 in the 16”, then I will simply get the 14” MBP then.

depends on price really. I may go for 14 inch pro. granted I have the m1 air so may skip both but will be interested on the price.

Yes, will be my first MacBook. Will go for the top end SoC if there are a few choices. Wanting it to replace my older gaming desktop, I don’t really game much anymore.

I'm waiting for it... and don't really care if it's M1, M1X, M2, M2X or whatever. Don't do basically much that would require a high end CPU, I just care about the screen size. Would there have been a 16 inch MBA, I would take that one.

The 16" MacBook Pro won't have an m1 CPU.
It will likely have a "next generation" mx instead (as will the 14").

MacBook Pro 16" definitely won't have an M1. The M1 can only support two displays. Having a high end Mac only supporting 2 displays would be a complete joke. Only 1 external monitor + internal display.

Also, consider the M1 can only support 16GB RAM, when the existing Intel machines can support 32GB.

The 16" MBP is supposed to be a high end machine. M1 is definitely not a high end CPU that can offer what a high end Mac requires.

I couldn't wait for it to release while my 2018 15-inch was having keyboard issues and an aging battery, but after getting those issues fixed free of charge I suppose I could wait another year or two. Especially since I'm on my three-year upgrade cycle with my iPhone XS

i have purchased 16" in 2020 for professional photo edit and video edit... cost a fortune in my country - luxury item tax.
My business was hit by the corona **** and all weddings canceled.
I hope the MBP will last at-least 5 years and weddings start soon so it get paid back.
Currently it stays in my shelf with no heavy use...just browsing and crypto trading...

so no new laptop for me

Currently running a 2011 11" MBA which I will replace with a 14" MBP. All things considered, the MBA has been a great little computer for me and can still perform 80% of what I need it to do. Just so happens that it really sucks now for that other 20% (battery is ****, fans on full blast, laggy in MS office).

I am likely a Day 1 purchaser of the 16" MBP, and also expect it'll be the "M1X", with a 16gb/512gb base configuration.

Will replace my late-2016 13" MBP which has been my daily work computer for the last year, and still running great, but starting to feel a bit sluggish at times. It's interesting how much my preferences have changed - I was all about portability (hence my current 13") and 6 months ago, was thinking the 14" might be more for me. But now I feel pretty set on getting the 16" assuming the 14/16" announcements are generally in line with what people think.

I realize that this change probably has something to do with me using my laptop in closed-clamshell mode 95% of the time over the past year with what has been a WFH environment for me. So portability just hasn't felt like as big of a benefit as it used to.
