It seems everyone has some complaint about mobileme - the recent being apple taking £121 off uk customers!

Are apple already cooking up Mobileme TAKE 2 or how long do you give it until this beta project is scrapped?

Seems about the same as .Mac so it doesn't really bother me. I'm happy.

I am happy with mobile me so far. It has its shortcomings, but for the most part it works great.

Waiting for tiger to get an update or some better instructions. Just read to delete all dot mac files, havent tried that yet.

I like the syncing, as it keeps all my computers (see sig) alike and I don't have to worry about updating them. Even though it doesn't sync automatically from the computer, its not that big of a deal to me.

I'm happy with MobileMe. My .Mac account was set to expire last month and I wasn't sure to renew (I have had it since 2005), but when they announce MobileMe, I decided to give a chance.

I originally had some issue with the Push of Calendar events being off an hour and the Me.com site still acts quirky (yesterday could not get into Calendar, today I could not access Contacts in mail) but the syncing between my iMac and MacBook Pro is very helpful.

I've read the threads regarding the push of Mac -> Cloud not being instant, but for my needs it will do (Not to diminish the frustration of other users).

But the Me -> Cloud -> iPhone is working, which is what I wanted from the service.

i'm also accessing my gmail using mobileme.

i'm very happy with the service! i can't wait till 3rd party apps start using push!

I was a .mac user since day 1. Mobileme is a totally different experience though ... since last Thursday, my mail is completely dead. The web page turns into blank and Entourage gets nothing from the server. 5 days, one email to them on every single day, never get any response.

Lets face it they don't care about the web hosting part. It's been 5 days they are more worried about their cloud and iphone. What is the point of a web hosting service when you can't use it? Sucks donkey balls so far.

What do you mean web hosting service? MobileMe is part of the iphone, if it's not working, then the iphone is not complete.

Why do all these Mac web sites mum on such a disaster? did Apple pay to these rumor sites?

Working great for me, and I am loving it!

I wonder if we could narrow the current problems down to a geographic location or ISP. Like maybe comcast is not as friendly with push over IP than other service providers.

    -just a thought

I'm very happy with it, schedule an appointment or add a contact on my iPhone and it shows up on my Mac without me actually needing to sync it. Worth every penny right there.

Just took a look at the threads at support.apple.com, it seems to be an universal problem, people across the globe are reporting problems. Of course, there're also folks who have no issue at all.

    Shame on you, Apple!

Well, that's what's important to me ... anyway, mail doesn't work at all. All I'm getting is a blank page!

I just want to know why I can't set alarms in the webside of the iCal feature.

I have to sync, then log into iCal on my home computer and THEN set the email alert alarm for any items.

    Weak.

I'm fairly happy with it. I've been annoyed over the last few days and perhaps my reaction to the problems has been over the top.

I've now had time to reflect and I guess that MM fits my needs for the most part. I've made a few contact amendments on the road today on my iphone and, as soon as I switched my macbook (running tiger) on, it synced with the cloud and updated. cool.

The only part that still sometimes lets me down is the "push" from cloud to mac - this usually takes quite a while and in fact requires a sync. The "push" does not trigger a sync on my mac. This would probably be serious if I used my calendar/contacts for time critical reasons or for work but I don't. I'll live with it until apple manages to get it working properly.

I'm pretty happy with it. Very similar to .Mac, but now it wirelessly syncs my calendar, contacts and bookmarks. Not a bad thing for no increase in price.

I started using Mac since Classic II. Personally, I think Macintosh did it this time with MobileMe. I still having problem with my homepage. Can't get in and can't do nothing about it but "wait". However, I am losing time and money because of this. I always thought .Mac and Apple is way ahead of everybody! Yes. What a mess.

    System Requirements

Here are the MobileMe System Requirements:

    System Requirements:
    * Compatible device: Mac, PC, iPhone, or iPod touch.
    * For Mac: Mac OS X v10.4.11 or latest version of Mac OS X Leopard; Firefox 2 or 3 or Safari 3.
    * For PC: Windows Vista or Windows XP Home or Professional (SP2) or later; Firefox 2 or 3, Safari 3, or Internet Explorer 7*; Microsoft Outlook 2003 or later recommended.
    * For iPhone and iPod touch: 2.0 software.
    * iTunes 7.7 or later (free download from www.itunes.com/download).
    * Internet access with compatible ISP (broadband required for web applications); fees may apply.
    * Some features require Mac OS X v10.5 and iLife ’08.

    * Internet Explorer 7 is not fully supported. Internet Explorer 7 has known compatibility issues with modern web standards that affect Web 2.0 applications such as MobileMe. You can use Internet Explorer 7, but you will not have access to all MobileMe features and will experience slower performance.

Notice that IE7 isn't even fully supported, and also that one of the sysreq is a compatible ISP. I recommend for anyone having problems with MobileMe to double check that they meet all these sysreqs and if on a Windows PC to try accessing it with Firefox, Safari, or Opera.

Example: at home I have a Mac and using FF or Safari MobileMe works flawlessly. at work we use an old Dell computer and MobileMe constantly freezes on me (using FF3) and I have to refresh the page for it to operate again. With the sysreqs so high it's no wonder so many users are experiencing trouble.

The first couple of days I experienced problems on my Mac as well, but for the past few days everything's working flawlessly. The 60-day trial may be due to Apple knowing that so many computers would have problems. The Trial allows people to find out if it's going to work for them or not.

How big a roll does Sproutcore play in this do you think?
