That's what I did, did hers fix?A friend of mine was having this very problem a few hours ago on her iPhone 5. Killing the app in the multitask bar and rebooting the phone didn't help her.

Are you kidding me? erase everything just to get the damn app store fixedI've had problems with the App Store for the past two days on my 5. Everything worked fine except the Search page, I couldn't search for any apps, just gave a blank screen. I tried everything I could think of, until this morning I did an "Erase all Content and Settings," and now I'm set. It really shouldn't take that, though...

I agree it shouldn't be at all necessary, but I basically had my iCloud account added and 3 or 4 apps installed, so it wasn't much of a loss. Still, there should be a better fix.
I'll try to hold out and see if a fix comes up because I have over 1,000 songs 500+pics and 80 apps...I really don't want to have to sync those again
Force quit the app, change date in settings to a year ahead, relaunch the app. Keeping the app open, multitask to settings and change date back to current date.
