Is anyone having trouble downloading Yahoo email on their iPhones via email icon app? I haven't been able to download on my iPhone 4 since yesterday morning, but it works fine on my PC or accessing via Safari. My iPhone 4 shows downloading 1 of 18 but it's not pulling them into my inbox. I deleted the account and re-added it, still no go and the last email it's showing in my inbox is from 6/17/2011. What's going on???

I called Apple support this morning and went through tons of troubleshooting. Still having the same problem. Tech suggested that I do a restore as new. I did a restore from back-up last night and it didn't fix the issue. Is it worth doing the restore as new or chalk it up as a Yahoo issue?

I too have had some weird issues with yahoo mail for the last few days, both downloads and sending mail. Sometimes it goes and sometimes it times out before sending. It feels like a yahoo server issue. I figured I would let it ride for another day or so to see if it levels out.

I say there's a very high likelihood the issues with Yahoo. I use two Yahoo account and three gmail on mine. I never have a problem with gmail. Conversely I'm frequently having a problem with Yahoo not only with my iPhone but MBP as well. Yahoo is definitely a pain.

I am still having the same problem. I did all the troubleshooting that I could. I even loaded up my yahoo email account onto my son's iPod Touch 4. Same problem. His (and my wife's) yahoo mail are working fine. It has to be an issue with yahoo's servers or something. What the heck is going on?

I sent in a request to yahoo support. They are experiencing unusually high volumes.

I'm experiencing the same thing with the one & only Yahoo mail account I kept after switching to Gmail. On both my MBP & iP4, it's horrible. On the desktop I get error messages saying it's loading, but it just hangs.

The message that they are experiencing high volumes may or may nor be true since I know for a fact Yahoo is struggling financially. With the improvements and shift of users into Windows Live Mail and even more migrating to Gmail, Yahoo has continued to slide. Having sold off Zimbra as well, it's only a matter of time before Yahoo is absorbed by a competitor.

That's my take on it.

Yes, having problems

Yep, been having problems for a couple of weeks now. I am a Yahoo Plus user so I pay for my yahoo mail and have since it was introduced which has been for a very very long time. To the problem, it seems to come from a specific message that won't download and it stops the iPhone e-mail app in it's tracks. It's been on and off again for two weeks now and getting frustrating.

Well, I got a response from yahoo. I followed the steps and unfortunately, my yahoo mail still does not work on my iPhone :(

"Thank you for writing to Yahoo! Mobile Tech Support.

following steps:

include your domain name (example, 1234@yahoo.com).

7. Enter your password.

attempt to access your mail

again.

Thank you again for contacting Yahoo! Mobile Tech support."

Well I'm not surprised, that's the same response I got from them. Same result as well. Thankfully I have Gmail.

Possible fix

Ok, I got mine to working today. Here's what I did.
All my other folders in my account would show up on my iPhone except for the Inbox.
1) Open Yahoo Mail on PC, find a recent email and remember person's name it was from or their e-mail address.
2) Open Inbox on your iPhone and pull down the Search Inbox at top and start typing in that person's name.
3) Hopefully when you do this the log-jam will be broken and you can hit cancel and all of your e-mail will show up in your Inbox.

To be honest, I am not 100% certain this is a problem with Yahoo mail but could be an issue with how Apple cache's account info to make the experience faster and more seamless to end-users.

No dice. The problem is my inbox is showing emails only from 6/17/2011. When I try to search for an email after that date in my iPhone inbox, I get this message..."no results found on server.". Something is hung up in there. I am almost ready to delete my stupid yahoo account forever, but I've had it since the late 1990s.

It started working all of a sudden last night. Yeah! I didn't realize how much I missed it!

yes I'm having problems

on my desktops both at work (Windows XP and home Mac Snow Leopard both Firefox and Safari running SL).

Very, very frustrating.

Since my iPhone has been set up to Yahell email for years now I haven't seen the same issues as on the computers. Glad it's working for you now OP.

Yahoo Performing Upgrade

Yahoo is "upgrading" its mail site. The present interface is a beta version and there are all sorts of glitches. One I find especially annoying is when I send Word files as attachments they are received in a Text Edited or in other formats and are difficult or impossible for the recipient to open. :(
