Is anyone waiting to see if there is 2GB of RAM?

I think it would be funny if it did come with 2GB of RAM and the Safari tabs still reloaded. I'm bookmarking this thread and coming back...

I'd love to find out that the Mini 3 had a super-secret 2GB RAM cache, but that is not going to happen.

The Air 2 might be worth it if it has 2GB RAM. Waiting would be smart for people who are content with their tablets.

They will have to up the RAM eventually, so, being on the very last run of 1GB would be a detrimental cycle to get involved in.

I still would prefer to have twice the ram for the same price, I don't know you.

When will there be official confirmation regarding the RAM one way or another? When it officially hits the market?

It's unconscionable that this spec wouldn't be disclosed before someone in Timbuktu opens their package and bothers to look for everyone who is still waiting.

I mean, seriously, WTF?

No not apple, but some tech group that gets hold of the ipad Air..guess we have to wait til its officially released

Outside of Apple, the iFixit breakdown is as official as you are going to get. That will come a few hours after launch.

Sure I would. But you won't hear me bellyaching if it doesn't. My iPads have worked just fine with the Apple deemed fit to bestow upon it.

That was strange, my login would never log me into my account for the past two days. Anyways, I stream videos on one tab in safari to my Apple TV and use the remaining two or three tabs to surf the web. Sometimes the tabs reload and I have to restart my video streaming and it gets really annoying.

Only thing keeping me from pulling the trigger on the new iPad air is first to see if this tab reloading is fixed. If this issue is not fixed even with 2gb of ram, I think I'll pass and use my iPad 4 for another year. Honestly it would be nice to have the new air as its lighter and more powerful but my iPad 4 still does everything I need it to do just fine except this safari reloading issue.

I am think you are right and even if it had 2GB there would still be the same delay while reloading. Some of these people claim to have 15-20 tabs open and an xtra GB of RAM is not going to do a thing.

If the iPad Air 2 has only 1GB I would get the Retina mini 2 once Target has one of their $50 gift card deals. Even if it has 2GB I'm not paying $500 and then in a few days see it going for less.
The market is flooded with these iPads and Apple has done nothing to entice current owners to spend another $500 to $900 on yet another one. Back in the old days the wifi preorders would have been all sold out.
I've never owned a iPad so for me if I can get a ipad air 2 for around $400 I would be happy to wait. $500 for any tablet is ridiculous. Even a refurb Air looks like a good buy at $339.

already ordered =)

But if it does have 1gb of ram i will probably give it back.

I ordered one too. I thought I would wait, but then I saw there is an education discount (I'm a grad student), so I went ahead and pushed the button.

But if there is only 1gb of RAM, I will most likely return it. I already have an Air and without the added RAM, I just cannot justify the purchase.

Same ordered but if it has 1GB ram I'm not even opening it. I already sold my Air so it looks like I'll be without one for a year or so. Oh well just got a 6 so not too bothered by it.

I am quite sure it will have 2gb with the new processor. It just wouldn't make sense for them to have done this.

Then again, they did absolutly NOTHING with the mini except the fingerprint id, which is disgraceful. If they could make the ipad air 2 thinner why not make the mini thinner. Makes no sense but.....

Then again again, it is not billed as an ipad mini air now is it? That will be the next rendition of this product.

But I am positive there will be 2gb in the air 2.

I actually LOL'd. It may genuinely make Safari snappier - finally! - but I'd laugh if they still reloaded too.

Even if the iPad Air 2 had 2GB of ram or more it doesn't mean the tabs won't reload. Nothing so far as confirmed that's the reason for the tabs reloading.

If so it'd put to bed the debate as to whether reloading is due to limited ram or software related too

I got an rMini and 6 the air 2 looks nice but not sure I wanna go 9.7 again after ipad 1-3

Doubling the RAM can only improve the user experience.

Very true fellow Bay Area resident. :) But one can only hope at this point that the real issue about the tabs reloading is due to a lack of ram. Not sure if we're gonna find that out soon enough as I have no faith that this new iPad has no more than the usual 1GB of ram.

Frankly I'd be quite surprised if it had 2 gb ram in it. That's the one thing holding me back from updating my 4s to the new iPhone 6. I know the 4s is really old and needs updating but for the price of the new iphone and iPads, Apple really needs to update their hardware for their customers. Count me in as another fence sitter I guess. Although I'm still not convinced my iPad Air needs replacing just yet.

Still waiting. I want a replacement to the iPad 2 that will see the same sort of longevity... can still survive using it, though its on iOS 7.

And the performance of other browsers seems to indicate it IS a software issue.

But for some there's no getting off the more RAM bandwagon. Because some article said so.
