Is apple care plus necessary?

I have a few days left to purchase apple care plus.
Do we really need it?
I did have it in my 4s and never use it once.

Ask yourself.
Personally I activated applecare before on a few iphones and never used them either.
So money wasted to me.
Unless you're prone to accidents then its good to have I guess.

Is a case necessary? Screen protector? How big/thick a case?
