I have a 12 Pro Max 256gb Pacific Blue that I got through the IUP program at launch.

I recently compared my 12 PM with my old iPhone 6 and noticed that the 12 PM's screen was very yellow compared to the 6's. True Tone is off. It is also noticeably yellow vs. my 2018 MBP display.

Is Apple doing exchanges because of this issue? I'm outside of my return window, but I have AppleCare+

I know in the past Apple has claimed that yellow screens are normal and that it isn't a defect. (and I don't want to spend forever on the phone with them to be shut down)

Anyone know?

You could try doing an exchange. More than likely, you would still end up some with a yellow tint screen which may or may not be less than what you are seeing now.

Have you tried turning off True Tone to see if that lessens the yellow?

If the genius tech specialist agrees that it's a defect they can replace it for new one. However, there is always a possibility of the replacement unit being same or even worse. Or you may even get lucky and have a unicorn.
