iPhone X Is Apple doing their iPhone updates like they have been doing their MacBook Pros?

Basically a 4 model upgrade cycle

The iPhone 6, 6s, 7, and 8 were kind of similar in many ways.

So my guess is maybe the iPhone X, iPhone XS, "iPhone 11", and "iPhone 12" will be similar in many ways

Kind of like the MacBook Pro lineup from what I've read.

I would say they are simply trying to update the devices they know have the correct hardware to run the OS properly.

Right now it seems to be anything with 2GB RAM and up.

This is what I think as well. The next step will be 3GB and up and so on.

The question really is how long can the smartphone stay relevant in its current form. If you have an iPhone 6s or above you’re fine for 2020 at least until the refresh of 2020. Therefore, the upgrade is becoming fewer and further in between. Even with Android. If you have a S8 or above or a Pixel 2 or a OnePlus 5 or above you’re in good shape. So it begs the question... Where do we go from here??

Yeah, I'm not sure what to expect yet. The 2020 iPhone is interesting to say the least. It sounds like it might be a departure from the X generation.

The 6 generation lasted 4 models. Depending on what you believe, XS is really only the first generation of the X generation (the X was supposedly released a year early)

I don't think it would be wise to go beyond 2020 with the same design.

You mean using faulty keyboard designs on iPhones?
