Is Apple readying itself to buy Sun?

According to John C Dvorak in his column on Marketwatch, the entrance of Google's CEO to Apple's board is nothing more than the bridge for the beginning of secret negotiations that if successful will end with Apple buying Sun.

Dvorak speculates that Eric Schmidt Sun's engineer genius could emerge as the 'Super CEO' of the company.

That would certainly be a change.

New Java releases would appear on Mac OS X before anything else.

Sun could scrap Solaris and use Mac OS X Server...or not.

The assets might be good for Apple but the debt might be too much.

What about Sun would really be good for Apple?

Less than dumb. Besides that, what would behoove Schmidt to bale out of Google - the hottest thing going? Not to mention that Sun's CEO, Jonathan Schwartz, is considered one of the top movers and shakers in tech these days. Sun gained server market share last quarter. Jonathan's not gong anywhere. The crap people publish these days astounds me.
