Just feeling a bit snarky with all this waiting for the servers 'to come back online' after supposedly crashing. I don't know if Apple geniuses should actually be passing that explanation on, as I read one just did to another forum member.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPod; U; CPU iPhone OS 2_0 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/525.18.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/3.1.1 Mobile/5A345 Safari/525.20)

uh, we are talking about APPLE here, they run osx server edition

My post was being snarky, as I said.

My serious point being though, are Apple geniuses telling people that Apple's XServes have crashed a good thing?

Any server that is over loaded will crash. Simple as that. It does matter if its OS X based or Windows based.

Really? I didn't know that. A bottleneck and/or slowdown I would expect, but the whole system crashing and having to reboot? I learn something every day.

Well, since I know nothing of servers, you might be right. (I just grabbed that out of the air)

But since millions of people are going on, I might be right.

Well, it's working now and I've just got my 2.0 update downloaded, so the ol' XServes came through in the end.

I cannot for a second forgive Apple.. I mean, I have put heart and blood into their devices. At the very least, they would show that they understand the requirements from a Web Based service. Make the f..king thing work! It is CLEAR that they don't understand the fundamentals, hence the comment that they are running on a W32 platform.. Which I hope, and pray that they are not.

If anything my Windows server has never crashed and I've seen the OS X server crash a few times. 🙄

Had too much caffeine today, have we? 😉

Anytime a company is fielding a significant upgrade or change such as this, there are going to be unforeseen issues that must be solved.

So they are a day late, it's working fine now it seems.

Anyhow, if you are stressing this much as a customer over the small delay then you may in line for a heart attack someday. 😱
