Is Apple still using UDID?

I didn't hear anything about it but it could be ushered in silently, but is Apple still using UDIDs on devices? With all the talk about removing them and offering a better solution, I was thinking that this would be ushered in with iOS 6. Are we still using UDIDs?

Yes, I still had to register my new devices UDID's to access iOS6
