Just trying to see if its worth trading in 12 Pro in mint condition for $640 credit. I still have apple care until December too, is it worth dealing with the hassle of selling it on sites like eBay or some other sources?

My opinion; don’t bother with anyone other than Apple online or postal. If you have a local shop you can walk into and get a valuation then you might as well see what they offer. Otherwise it’s Apple or a gift to a family member.

if you walk into the apple store to trade-in, do they just send it in for you, or do they give you the trade-in value right on the spot?

Trade-in with Apple is the easiest way to go about it, but you can get more money selling it on somewhere like Swappa. The difference is dealing with buyers and haggling prices when selling it yourself. If you feel Apple gives you a fair price, go for it—if you have the patience to deal with buyers and want a little more for your phone, sell it somewhere.

I’m trading my 12 into Apple for $530, but was able to get $950 for my 12 PM on Facebook Marketplace. If you’re okay with it, selling privately usually ends up yielding the most return.

Do it in store and you also get the tax back as well, and instantly going back to credit card. Much better than having mailed it in and getting store credit.

If you trade in-store do they deduct from the new phone immediately or give you the value after that transaction?

The Apple trade in price is very competitive this year. I sold my 11 Pro Max 256GB last year for $700 and then had to pay PayPal, Swappa, and shipping fees. I'll be taking the $790 trade in offer for my 12 Pro Max 128GB this year.

When done in person, you get instant value. If you mail in, you go through Apple's partner Phobio, which constantly low-balls offers and tells people their phone was damaged.
Thanks that is what I was hoping for. I did the mail in with a laptop and it was a stressful long process. I will definitely do in person!

Yea but not a lot of places you sell locally at good prices unless it’s through offer up etc
