The more I use iOS 26, the more it feels like Apple wants to bring back some of that three-dimensional look and depth that existed before iOS 7. The subtle shadows, gradients, and layered elements almost feel like a modern reinterpretation of skeuomorphism, though cleaner and more restrained. It’s as if Apple is trying to blend the flat design era with a touch of the richness and texture from the past.

I don’t think they’re specifically trying to mimic it, but I welcome that idea, even though I don’t like Liquid Glass.

The camera app icon is absolutely beautiful. I think they might be adding some elements deliberately, which is great.

As somebody who never updates, a return to iOS 6-like graphics would be the only change that could make me update.
