Is Apple using Microsoft Services?

I was running the iTunes Match on my mac and noticed Little Snitch was showing that iTunes was connecting to a url ending with windows.net!

windows.net is a Microsoft-owned site, which redirects to their .NET site.

Yes, they are using Windows Azure. Also for iCloud.
