The videos I have seen show the directional finding range of the Apple Watch to be about 1/4 that of the iPhone. I.e when you get an actual direction to follow.

I don’t have many examples though just a couple of YouTube vids. Can anyone else with hands on experience confirm this? An Apple Watch that could pickup next years Apple tag U2 at 60m is an amazing feature, if it’s just 13m that’s not that useful.

It appears :

iPhone 15 finding iPhone 15

directional finding range : about 60m (197ft)

Watch s9 finding iPhone 15

directional finding range : about 13m (44ft)

I didn’t try going out as far as 200 feet, but my S9 picked up my phone 90 feet away without an issue. I got a direction to follow, though it was somewhat imprecise.
