First of, problems will always exist. And second, apple maps is not unusable in iOS 6 but thanks for furthering the stereotype.

No need to get offensive. I never said it was not "unusable" ios 6. I just simply asked if the mistakes that they made that people made a big deal about ever got fixed. Never used the app during ios 6 and I still don't now, which leads to why i'm asking the question.

Sorry you took offense but you haven't even used Maps yet you want to pass judgement based on word of mouth. And the "problems" that Maps has is not as devastating as you think or have heard. Try it out and make up your own mind.

Apple Maps for driving = GREAT

Apple Maps for Points of Interest = USELESS

Let's hope they really fix it properly. It will take more than a Night Mode lick of paint.

Good points. I really like the night mode though.
I think that they have made a number of small design tweaks that are better here (and not just the look, but functionality).

For me, I replaced Apple Maps with Google Maps when it came out. Google Maps is great, and the integration with Google Now make it extremely convenient that it tends to already know where I'm going to go. I also started using Waze a few weeks ago when all the Waze M&A talks started. Waze is quite nice with its very specific traffic data.

I'm very glad to see some improvements with Apple Maps, and I'll definitely be testing it out on trips where I already know where I'm going. With Google Maps and Waze, it seems like there are a number of solid maps apps now.
