8 hours does seem to be the norm from what I've been reading, No great, but not bad.

That's all I ever got from my early 13" MBPr, and I never felt like I was lacking. I will be quite happy if it equals that, and so far it's looking like it will.

I've never used it but GFXBench 3.0 has a battery life test. I'm running it on the 2015 MacBook 12" (1.2GHz) as I write this to see what rating it gives.

Also 8+ hours.

That's so nice to hear:

You've demonstrated excellent performance, noticed little heat, and had excelle battery life.

Your thread has truly made me think waiting for my 1.3GHz/512G is well worth it.

Battery Is Good!

I received my 1.2GHz, 512GB MacBook more than a week ago and I can't complain about the battery life. I take mine to work and leave the charger there because I only need to charge it for a little bit each day. I haven't done an extensive battery test but the eye test gives me 8.5-9 hours easily even when working on light CAD files, browsing, messaging, and email. Keep in mind that time is relative and I'm coming from the 2012 15 inch MacBook Pro Retina. That battery life is terrible compared to this MacBook.

Yeah easily 8+ hours. started using safari instead of chrome and that made a HUGE difference too. I haven't used safari in so long its actually really nice now and sips battery in comparison to chrome.

My battery has been good so far, haven't charged since Friday night and just sat in sleep mode between uses, watched vids and surfing mostly but still has 5.5 hours remaining. Watched several consecutive 4K vids with no heat issues..
