I thought this might make an interesting discussion. It is to do with a company called Pinch Media.

Here's the actual link to the article: http://www.eidac.de/?p=109

I really don't have a problem with it. It's just sending statistics so that developers know who's downloading and using their applications. No personal information (usernames, passwords, contacts, etc.) are being sent out.

    I don't think it's bad.

It's not like companies can stalk me knowing I have an iPhone 3G as opposed to an iPhone or iPod touch, 3.0, and time used.

Maybe the location is one thing (then again, won't the application ask to use my location? idk) but unless you're like at the north pole, it's not like they can find you specifically.

You can turn this on or off in the iPhone's settings.

Exactly how do you 'listen in' on an application? Stupid article and title from someone wearing a tinfoil hat.

You realize that the NSA monitors major AT&T hubs by tapping directly into them, don't you? No tinfoil required, just read the paper.
