I installed Big Sur and it porked my working win10 bootcamp (v2004) install. Basically I get a code 12 no matter what I try now.

Has anyone tested out various eGPU scenarios after installing Big Sur beta?

At this point I'd suggest waiting for a few weeks AFTER the release before trying to upgrade to it with any relatively exotic (I'd include eGPU in that, not many people have them) configurations.

It's not far off and

  • things may change between now and release
  • on release a LOT more people will get it and report issues if there are any

Yes - understood - however I've erased my mac completely and installed Catalina via internet recovery and a fresh install of bootcamp and STILL cannot get my card working. I think big sur upgrades something that changes how the win10 uses resources so I'm just dead in the water right now. I tried to start my own thread, but it hasn't been approved yet.

Hi. I have a similar problem. I installed Big Sur Public Beta and it messed with my bootcamp partition. Did a fresh install of Catalina with bootcamp and still i get random black displays. Running Windows 10 (1903).

Do you have any updates on your system? maybe a temporary fix while Big Sur is released.

Have y’all tried running the latest Windows version through the Dev Channel. I started doing that after updating to Big Sur and then going back to Catalina and now my setup is finally working again with apple_set_0.5 loader.

Big Sur updates the T2 bridgeOS. If you want to get back to Catalina version you will have to put the T2 in dfu mode and restore the previous brigdeOS with the help of another Mac.

would there be any issues with the bridgeos after doing a clean install of Catalina after someone installs beta 9
