...Once you use it, you won't be able to use the stock messaging app again.
Just to be clear, biteSMS does not disable the stock messaging app. You will be able to use it, however you will not want to.

I've been using BiteSMS since a few days after it came out and i must tell you, it has completely changed the way i text. I mean i'm able to text faster, have signature (which was a huge plus for me) and it even allowed you to know how many texts and such that you have waiting to be read (through quicklist & the status bar).
So, yes, this app is a MUST.

The no credits left its because its trying to send your texts via bitesms's textfreak service. In order to use textfreak instead of your carriers texts you have to pay for them, they're not free.
Go to the bitesms settings and select default send method: "send via mobile carrier"
The "call" option works fine here on 4.3.1 with 5.2bitesms. Maybe try a reinstall.

The biteSMS credits and the TextFreek service are two different things. biteSMS credits are usually used for international texting. The TextFreek service is totally free and uses data to send messages, pretty much the same idea as WhatsApp or Kik.

On topic, biteSMS is very much worth it and it's the first app I install whenever I jailbreak.

Oh thank you.
I thought it was the same thing.
So it's a whole different thing than the bitesms credit texts.

It's okay, but annoying at times. When using google voice if I receive a txt msg it'll interrupt my phone conversation and cut me off for a few seconds. People think I have crappy reception when in reality it's bitesms acting up. After playing with the settings, I don't see the hype and can do without it.

Most definitely. BiteSMS is one of THE reasons to jailbreak, right up there with MyWi. I'd be lost without it, it really is so much better than the stock SMS app.

I've been on jailbroken iPhones since the 3G and never gave bitesms a chance, but this thread finally pushed me to buy it and I can say it is definitely worth every ePenny. I've been using the stock SMS app and a pretty buggy quick reply tweak for a long time and this is magnitudes better. Now i'm ticked I took this long to buy it .

Yes. When my wife saw the quick reply on my iPhone she told me to jailbreak hers.

I Agree with others, bitesms is well worth buying.

It was my first purchase after jailbreaking the first time and I have not regretted it for a moment.

Does BiteSMS work with Pingchat! or WhatsApp?

I rarely use text messages any longer.
